No. 24/- Georgetown will look to deal No. 2/2 Maryland its first loss of the season on Wednesday night on the Hilltop as the Hoyas host the 15-0 Terrapins at 7 p.m. ET. The game will air live on FS1, with Scott Sudikoff and Rich Donovan on the call. The Terps have knocked off three consecutive top-10 teams and lead the nation in scoring margin (9.13). Georgetown (8-6) is coming off a road win over Villanova on Saturday and are one of the national leaders in fewest turnovers per game (13.29). BIG EAST Digital Network coverage returns on Saturday in league play, featuring Villanova at Butler at noon ET. The Wildcats are one conference win away from clinching a BIG EAST Championship berth, their first since 2015. Villanova will also play a midweek contest prior to Saturday’s league tilt, visiting Temple on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Magic Number: 3
No. 24/- Georgetown, Marquette and Villanova each need just one more league win over the final two weeks to clinch a berth into the 2019 BIG EAST Women’s Lacrosse Championship presented by Jeep. The trio of teams currently sits in a tie for second place in the league standings at 2-1 and one more win would guarantee at least a 3-2 final record and out of reach of current 0-3 squads Butler and Old Dominion. GU, MU and VU can get in without winning as well, but will need outside results to work in their favor. No. 15/15 Denver has already clinched a spot in the field for a third consecutive year, and can lock up at least a share of the BIG EAST regular-season title with one more victory. The Pioneers host Marquette on Friday at 9 p.m. ET, Villanova travels to Butler at noon on Saturday (BEDN) and the Hoyas welcome Old Dominion on Saturday at 1 p.m. The top four teams in the final regular-season standings qualify for the conference tournament, which is set for May 2 and 4 at Marquette’s Valley Fields.
