BIG EAST Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Spencer Brown, Georgetown, Senior
Brown ran the fastest 1,500 meter time in the BIG EAST this season, a mark which lists 12
th nationally, at the Bryan Clay Invitational in California. The senior clocked a finish of 3:39.94 which ranks third in the East Region this season. It is the fastest 1,5000m time in the BIG EAST since 2015.

Wade Walder, Butler, Junior
Walder's final score of 7,355 in section 3 of the decathlon at the Bryan Clay Invitational broke his own school record of 7,020 that he set at the 2018 BIG EAST Championships. Along the way, Walder set four personal records and tied his PR in an event as well. The 100-meter dash (11.10), long jump (6.99m), 1500-meters (4:36.54), and discus throw (42.83m) were all personal bests. The point total is the best in the BIG EAST this season and ranks 18
th nationally.
BIG EAST Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Josette Norris, Georgetown, Graduate Student
Norris was the top collegiate finisher in the 1,500 meter elite race at the Larry Ellis Invitational. The graduate student ran Division I’s fifth-fastest time this year, clocking in at 4:13.77. The time is the best in the BIG EAST since the 2017 season.
BIG EAST Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Liv Morgan, Villanova, Freshman
Morgan competed in her first collegiate heptathlon and tallied a first-place finish at Albany. Her score of 4,926 points leads the BIG EAST this season and is the fifth-highest in school history, while ranking 70
th nationally in 2019. She recorded personal-best marks in four of the seven events of the heptathlon (high jump, shot put, 200 meters, javelin), while her marks of 39.93 meters in the javelin and 1.55 meters in the high jump rank fourth and seventh on the conference performance list.
BIG EAST Notable Performances
- Butler’s Euan Makepeace and Allie Vogeler recorded a par of top-40 NCAA times this season – at the Mt. SAC Relays, Makepeace the BIG EAST’s fastest 5k this season (13:54.62) to rank 40th nationally; at the Bryan Clay Invitational, Vogeler rank the 31st-fastest 400-meter hurdles (58.87)
- Marquette’s Joseph Keys finished three spots behind Walder in the decathlon at the Bryan Clay Invitational, tallying 7138 points to finish fifth in Group 3 – becoming just the second MU athlete to eclipse 7,000 points, notching personal bests in all but one event; teammate Breanne Marchan recorded the No. 3 mark in the BIG EAST in both the 100-meter sprint (11.94, PR) and long jump (5.70m)
- Villanova’s Rachel McArthur ran the 10th-fastest 1,500 meters in the NCAA this season, clocking in at 4:14.91 for a personal record at the Cardinal Classic in Palo Alto, Calif.; teammate Thomas Conboy recorded the top pole vault height in the BIG EAST this season, passing the bar at 4.75 meters to rank 92nd in the East Region
- At the Beach Invitational in Long Beach, Calif., Anna Kostarellis broke a Xavier record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing in 10:31.30 to rank 80th nationally in 40th in the East Region
