Reigning BIG EAST 1,500-meter champion Nicole Hutchinson runs the nation’s second-fastest time this season to earn weekly recognition.

BIG EAST Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Christian Liddell, Georgetown, Junior
At Saturday’s Sam Howell Invitational in Princeton, N.J., Liddell ran the top 3,000-meter steeplechase time in the BIG EAST this season, finishing in 8:56.85. The time ranks 32nd nationally and 12th in the East Region. The junior won the event by nearly six seconds.    
 
BIG EAST Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Daniel Armstrong, Marquette, Junior
Armstrong won the men’s high and long jumps at the Marquette Invitational on Friday afternoon. He reached a height of 2.12 meters in the high jump and a personal-best distance of 6.34 meters in the long jump. The high jump mark leads the BIG EAST this season and ranks 25th nationally.
 
BIG EAST Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Nicole Hutchinson, Villanova, Senior
Hutchinson ran the second-fastest 1,500-meter time in the nation this season, breaking the 4:15 mark for just the second time in her career with a finish of 4:13.71. She was the top collegiate finisher in the face, trailing only professional runner Ajeé Wilson at Saturday’s Sam Howell Invitational.  Hutchinson, who won the 1,500 meters at last season’s BIG EAST Championships, leads the league in the event by nearly three seconds this season.  
 
BIG EAST Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Keely Knobbe, Marquette, Senior
Knobbe claimed top honors in the hammer throw and discus at the Marquette Invitational and was runner up in the shot put. Her marks in the hammer (54.26 meters) and discus (45.66 meters) were both personal bests and the seventh-best marks in Marquette history. The discus mark leads the BIG EAST this season and ranks 94th in the West Region, while the hammer distance is 69th in the West Region.
 
BIG EAST Notable Performances
  • Marquette’s A.J. Catarozoli ran the BIG EAST’s top 100-meter dash time this season with a finish of 10.69 at the Marquette Invitational – the time ranks seventh in program history.
  • St. John’s Leah Anderson posted a trio of times  at the Sam Howell Invitational which rank in the top two in the BIG EAST this season, including the Conference’s top 200-meter dash time (23.69, PR); the clip ranks 53rd nationally. She also posted the BIG EAST’s second-best 100m (11.88, PR) and helped earn the second-best 4x100-meter relay time (46.64) this season.
  • William Roberts placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational on Saturday, posting a Xavier-record time of 53.93 – the time also ranks second in the BIG EAST this season; he also helped the 4x400 relay team placed fourth in a school record time of 3:19.09.
