BIG EAST Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Euan Makepeace, Butler, Jr.
Makepeace took home the win in the 1,500 meters at the Billy Hayes Invitational at Indiana University as he finished with a time of 3:43.92, nearly a full five seconds faster than the second-place finisher. That time is third in the BIG EAST this outdoor season and 12th on the NCAA East qualifying list at this point in 2019. Makepeace's time moves him into ninth all-time on the Butler school record book for the event.

Russell moved into the top spot on the BIG EAST leaderboard in the long jump as he passed teammate Sam Robinson with a personal-best mark of 7.28m, which was good for third in the event at the Billy Hayes Invitational.
BIG EAST Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Emma Moravec, Marquette, So.
Moravec placed third in the women’s 800-meter run at the Wisconsin Alumni Classic on Friday in a time of 2:09.08. That time is No. 5 in the BIG EAST this season and vaults her to the No. 3 spot on Marquette’s all-time list, while ranking 72
nd in the West Region.
BIG EAST Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Lindsey Mirkes, Marquette, So.
Mirkes won the women’s high jump at the Wisconsin Alumni Classic on Friday evening in Madison with a lifetime best jump of 1.76 meters (5-9.25). That mark is 22nd in the NCAA West Region and places her second all-time in Marquette history. She currently sits second in the BIG EAST Conference in the event.

- Butler’s Josephine Threstrup and Georgetown’s Sami Corman posted matching 1,500m times this weekend to tie for seventh-best in the BIG EAST and 65th-fastest in the East Region, finishing in 4:23.34
