CORVALLIS, Ore. – The BIG EAST baseball regular season and tournament champion Creighton Bluejays will play against Michigan for the third time in four days in the NCAA Corvallis Regional Final on Monday night at 7:06 p.m. ET on ESPN2. Creighton defeated Michigan on Sunday night, 11-7, playing out of the elimination bracket.
The winner of Monday night’s game will advance to the Super Regional.
No. 2 seed Creighton lost to Michigan, the No. 3 seed in the Corvallis Regional on Friday, 6-0. Playing out of the elimination bracket, the Bluejays defeated defending national champion and regional host Oregon State, 4-1. Oregon State was ranked 16th nationally. On Sunday afternoon, Creighton faced elimination again. This time the Bluejays defeated Cincinnati, 6-1, for a chance to play Michigan again. Cincinnati is coached by former Xavier head coach, Scott Googins.
Creighton rallied on Sunday night against Michigan to force the regional if-necessary game. Down 7-4 heading to the ninth inning with its season on the brink, Creighton used a seven-run ninth inning to stun Michigan with an 11-7 victory.

Creighton is ranked in all six major national polls heading into the NCAA Tournament, including two polls for the first time this season.
The Bluejays are 22nd in the polls published by D1Baseball, NCBWA and Perfect Game, and 23rd in the Baseball America and USA Today Coaches polls. The Bluejays are also up to 27th in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll.
The Bluejays ranked No. 23 in the NCAA RPI going into the weekend.
In 2017, Xavier advanced to the Nashville Regional final against UC Santa Barbara. The Musketeers lost in the Monday championship game 14-5. Xavier was the No. 4 seed in the championship.
