WSOC Notes - 9.13 Update
#15 Georgetown 4, RV Princeton 3 (OT)
Graduate student Amanda Carolan scored the game-winning goal on Thursday at Shaw Field to put the No. 15 Georgetown women's soccer team ahead of RV Princeton in a 4-3 overtime victory. The Hoyas scored a late goal in the second half to tie it up and force both teams into overtime. Carolan found her opportunity in the first minute of the extra frame and advanced the Blue & Gray to 4-2-1 on the season while Princeton falls to 2-2-1.

Providence 1, RV Boston College 1 (2OT)
Providence earned a 1-1 draw at RV Boston College Eagles on Thursday. The draw marked both sides' first tie of the season. Providence knotted the game, 1-1, in the 88th minute on Hannah McNulty's team-leading third goal of the season. Angie Suaza played a free kick into the six-yard box that McNulty headed home near post. Providence now holds a 3-2-1 overall record and 2-0-1 record in overtime games this season. Boston College entered the match with a 6-0-0 record. Shelby Hogan had five saves on the evening.

St. John’s 1, Syracuse 0
Redshirt senior Samantha Masur recorded her first career goal to lift St. John's to a 1-0 victory over Syracuse at Belson Stadium. Masur provided the game-winning tally for the Johnnies in the 18th minute off a long pass from Michelle Money. The assist marked the first of Money's young and promising St. John's tenure. Goalkeeper Naya Lipkens picked up her second win of the season and the first clean sheet of her collegiate career, turning aside all three Syracuse tries to lead the Johnnies (2-5-0) to their first shout victory of the season.

Xavier 4, Northern Kentucky 0
Despite outshooting NKU 10-0 over the opening 45 minutes, the teams entered halftime scoreless at XU Soccer Complex. The Musketeers continued to fire in the second and finally broke through in the 48
th in the first of two goals for Samantha Dewey on the night. XU scored three times over the final 10 minutes to make the final 4-0 and improve to 5-1-1 on the year. Xavier outshot Northern Kentucky 22-1, with NKU’s lone strike being off target.

DePaul 2, Loyola Chicago 0
Kristin Boos scored her second career goal in the 63rd minute off a corner kick sequence that rebounded off the save to give DePaul (3-4-0) the go-ahead goal. Morgan Turner would find a chance on goal in the 75th minute but Loyola keeper Grace Droessler would make the save. The junior forward knocked on Loyola's door three minutes later and blasted a shot from about 30 yards out into the top right corner of the net for the insurance goal. Boos was credited with the assist. Mollie Eriksson played all 90 minutes in the net, making four saves and earning her third clean sheet of the season.

Siena 2, Seton Hall 1
Junior Dani Brinckman scored her first career goal, but the Seton Hall women's soccer team fell to Siena, 2-1, at the Red Bulls Training Facility on Thursday. Brinckman’s goal was an equalizer in the 69
th minute, but Siena’s Ashleigh Sarafin notched her second score of the game in the 84
th minute to steal the win. Harpa Johannsdottir had two saves in the setback for The Hall (1-3-0).

Illinois 2, Butler 1
Illinois struck first, in the 18
th minute, before adding the decisive goal in the 58
th off a penalty kick. The host Bulldogs cut the lead in half in the 71
st minute as Anja Savich scored her fifth goal of the season off a feed from national assists leader Katie Soderstrom. Butler (4-3-0) was unable to break through again, despite outshooting Illinois by a 20-4 margin and holding a 6-1 lead in corner kicks.
