Last Night In #BEfútbol: Sept. 2
NEW YORK -- Sunday fútbol featured two double overtime matches as St. John’s defeated N.C. State 1-0 and Marquette and U.C. Davis finished in scoreless draw. No. 4 Wake Forest scored in the 76th minute and outlasted Creighton, 1-0. Vermont defeated DePaul 1-0 to close out the Chicago Classic.
In action on Labor Day Monday is No. 13 Georgetown hosting Temple at 1 p.m. ET, Seton Hall hosting Army West Point at 6:30, University of New Hampshire at Providence, Evansville at Butler and Eastern Illinois at Xavier at 7 p.m. For the Musketeers, head coach Andy Fleming is on the hunt for win No. 100 on Monday, coming off the highest home ranked victory in Xavier history, 2-0 over No. 3 Akron on Friday.
MARQUETTE 0, U.C. Davis 0 (2OT)
For the second time in three days, the Marquette University men's soccer team had a match go to double overtime. After a thrilling 2-1 victory over UAB on Friday evening, Sunday afternoon's match against UC Davis resulted in a 0-0 draw. The Aggies slightly outshot the Golden Eagles, 15-13, but MU had six shots on net compared to just one for the opposition. Marquette’s Jackson Weyman saved the only shot on goal he faced.

Vermont 1, DEPAUL 0
Vermont scored in the 50th minute off a corner kick that was questioned by DePaul coaches and players but nonetheless headed into the goal by Rasmus Tobinski to give the Catamounts the go-ahead goal. Blue Demon keeper Drew Nuelle made two saves between the pipes. DePaul would fire off 11 total shots, five of them on goal. Sophomore Jake Fuderer put two on goal but both were saved by Catamount keeper Aron Runarsson.

No. 4 Wake Forest 1, RV CREIGHTON 0
Creighton keeper Paul Kruse recorded three saves as the Bluejays played its second top-10 ACC opponent of the weekend. Sunday's loss against the Demon Deacons came at the heels of Creighton's 2-2 double overtime draw at No. 6 North Carolina on Friday night. Calvin Harris' goal during the 76th minute proved to be the game-winner for host Wake Forest. The Bluejays did not record a shot on goal during their battle against the nationally ranked Demon Deacons.

ST. JOHN’S 1, RV N.C. State 0 (2OT)
Following a night chock-full of narrow misses, Tani Oluwaseyi finally broke through for the Johnnies in the 107th minute of action on Friday, finding the back of the net with a golden goal and leading the St. John's men's soccer past RV NC State, 1-0, at Dail Soccer Field. With the win, St. John's improved to 2-0-0 on the season for the first time since 2008. Oluwaseyi's game-winner was set up by his teammates' efforts on a pair of 50-50 balls in the offensive zone, as Brandon Duarte headed a ball toward Skage Simonsen, who then headed it to Oluwaseyi. The sophomore entered the game at halftime.
