Marquette came from behind to earn a thrilling 2-1 victory over the Xavier Musketeers on Friday night in Cincinnati, Ohio. MU trailed 1-0 after XU's Taylor Crull tapped in a goal off a deflected pass in the 60th minute to put his team ahead. The Golden Eagles responded just five minutes later to tie up the game when Josh Coan broke free on the left wing, received a pass from A.J. Franklin, then made a move to his left and buried his team-leading fourth goal of the season. The Golden Eagles went up for good in the 77th minute when freshman Christian Marquez tapped in a beautiful cross from Alex Mirsberger for his second game-winning goal of the week. The assist from Mirsberger was his first of the season.
