NEW YORK – Connecticut sweeps all three BIG EAST field hockey awards this week. Husky senior Svea Boker and sophomore Cheyenne Sprecher repeat as BIG EAST Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. Freshman midfielder Sophie Hamilton earns Freshman of the Week accolades.

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Svea Boker, Connecticut, Sr., F (Breman, Germany)

Connecticut senior forward Svea Boker repeats as BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week with a nine-point week (4G, 1A) helping the No. 3 Huskies to two wins.  Boker scored twice and added an assist in Connecticut’s 6-2 BIG EAST win over No. 22 Old Dominion on Friday. She followed with two more goals in a 4-0 victory over Boston University.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Cheyenne Sprecher, Connecticut, RS-So., GK (Palmyra, Pa.)
Connecticut redshirt sophomore goalie Cheyenne Sprecher had 15 saves in a 2-0 week for No. 3 Connecticut. Sprecher made six saves in the 6-2 BIG EAST win over No. 22 Old Dominion. She followed up with nine saves against Boston University, completing her fifth shutout of the season.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Sophie Hamilton, Connecticut, Fr., M (Bruton, England)
Connecticut midfielder Sophie Hamilton totaled seven points (2G, 3A) this weekend in wins over No. 22 Old Dominion and Boston University. Hamilton posted three assists in the 6-2 win over Monarchs. Hamilton also scored twice in the 4-0 win over the Terriers. Hamilton’s goals bookended the win with the first goal in the 18th minute and the fourth in the 36th.  
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Daniella Rhodes, Liberty, Fr., F
Rhodes led the No. 13 Lady Flames with two goals in a 5-0 win over Villanova on Friday, leading to Liberty’s 100th program win. She scored in the second and 45th minutes, helping Liberty to a 2-0 start in league action. Her goal in the second minute proved to be the game winner.
Amanda Funaro, Quinnipiac, So., D
Funaro played all 140 minutes in a 1-1 weekend for the Bobcats. She made stop after stop to lead the Bobcats defensive effort. Additionally, Funaro had the game-winner in the shootout after a 1-1 tied game against the Hoyas.
Izzy Mendez, Providence, Sr., F
Mendez scored the game-winner in a 1-0 victory over BIG EAST foe Temple on Sept. 27
