BIG EAST Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Kenneth Rowe, Georgetown, Sr., Middle Distance (Cockeysville, Md.)
Georgetown middle distance runner Kenneth Rowe won the 800-meter run at the Hokie Invitational on Friday with a BIG EAST leading time of 1:50.57. His time is also the 23rd best time in the NCAA this season. It was Rowe’s first time running in the 800 this season.
 
BIG EAST Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Malik Cunningham, Villanova, So., Jumps (St. Andrew, Jamaica)
Villanova sophomore Malik Cunningham earns his second athlete of the week honor after recording the best mark of his collegiate career with a triple jump of 15.43 meters at the Dr. Sander Columbia Challenge. The mark leads the BIG EAST and is tied for 40th nationally. It is the longest triple jump indoors or outdoors by a Villanova athlete in the past 15 seasons.
 
BIG EAST Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Leah Anderson, St. John’s, Jr., Sprints (Mount Vernon, N.Y.)
St. John’s junior sprinter Leah Anderson placed second at the Dr. Sander Columbia Challenge in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.53. The mark ranks 28th nationally as well as No. 1 in the BIG EAST standings. Additionally, Anderson finished fourth in the 200-meters on Saturday with a time of 24.23, which also leads the BIG EAST. Her 200 time is 59th in the NCAA. It is Anderson’s second straight weekly honor.
 
BIG EAST Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Nina Hilt, Butler, So., Multis (Delaware, Ohio)
Butler sophomore Nina Hilt took home a win at 2020 Gladstein Invite in the women’s high jump. Hilt cleared a personal best mark of 1.60 meters. It moved her to fourth on the league performance list for the event.
 
Notable Performances
  • DePaul’s Ashton Colaire won the 60-meter hurdle event at the Illini Invitational, setting a program record with a time of 8.00 seconds. The finish is the best in the BIG EAST this season and 65th nationally.
  • Blue Demon teammate Isabel Ingram also won the 60-meter hurdles at the Illini Invite with a 8.59-second finish. Her PR is also a new BIG EAST leading time.
  • The Marquette men’s 4x400-meter relay team of Joe Keys, Zach Murray, Sam Sagan and Julian Wright took first place at the Notre Dame Invitational on Jan. 25. They won event with a time of 3:16.31. The time is No. 3 all-time at Marquette.
  • Villanova’s Trudy-Ann Williamson came in third in the 60-meter dash at the Dr. Sander Challenge. Her time of 7.39 leads the BIG EAST and is 34th nationally. It is also the 10th fastest at Villanova.
