NEW YORK – Seton Hall guard Myles Powell has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week and Villanova guard Justin Moore has been tabbed BIG EAST Freshman of the Week.  Powell led the Pirates to a pair of league victories and Moore continued his steady production for the Wildcats in a 1-1 week.  
 
BIG EAST Player of the Week
Myles Powell, Seton Hall, G, Sr. – Powell led Seton Hall to a 2-0 week by averaging 21.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals.  He returned from a two-game absence by scoring 18 of his 27 points in the second half in a 74-66 win at DePaul.  He also had five steals.  In a 78-62 victory over Georgetown, Powell scored 15 points, dealt six assists and scored eight points in a late 10-0 run to help secure the win.  Powell is averaging 21.2 points for the season. 
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Justin Moore, Villanova, G, Fr. – Moore averaged 13.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week.  He had 14 points and six boards in a 71-60 loss at Marquette and 13 points and two rebounds in a 68-62 victory against Xavier.  Moore, who has won Freshman of the Week honors four times this season, is averaging 12.4 points per game, the top mark among league freshmen.

Kamar Baldwin, Butler, G, Sr.
In a 2-0 week, averaged 19.5 points.  Scored all 20 of his points in the second half in a win over Creighton (71-57).  Had 19 points in a victory at St. John’s (60-58), including a career-high five 3-pointers.        
 
Ty-Shon Alexander, Creighton, G, Jr.
Averaged 17.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.3 steals in a 2-1 week.  Shot 60 percent from the floor.  Had 21 points, eight rebounds and six steals in win against Marquette (92-75).  
  
Markus Howard, Marquette, G, Sr.
Posted 29 points and eight rebounds in a victory over Villanova (71-60) in a 1-1 week in league play.  Scored 18 points in a loss at Creighton (92-75).  Had 30 points in a win versus Central Arkansas (106-54).      
 
Luwane Pipkins, Providence, G, Gr.   
In a 2-0 week, averaged 15.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists.  Had 16 points, five rebounds and four assists in a win at DePaul (66-65).      
   
Naji Marshall, Xavier, F, Jr.
Averaged 19.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in a 1-1 week.  Had 20 points and eight rebounds in a win over St. John’s (75-67).
