BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Selena Lott, Marquette, Sr., G
Lott was lights-out for the Golden Eagles last week, averaging 22.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 75-percent shooting as Marquette went 2-0 on the road. The senior guard began the week with 26 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals in Thursday’s win at Cincinnati, draining 11-of-14 (.786) of her attempts from the field. She followed that showing with an 18-point, 14-rebound, five-assist outing in Sunday’s win at Belmont, making 4-of-6 attempts from the field, including 3-of-5 from deep. The 14 rebounds were a career high and the second-highest total by a BIG EAST player this season.
BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Week
Paige Bueckers, Connecticut, Fr., G
The highly touted freshman did not disappoint in her collegiate debut, tallying game highs of 17 points, nine rebounds, five assists and five steals as No. 3/5 Connecticut rolled past UMass Lowell on Saturday. Bueckers was 8-of-11 from the field, playing 36 minutes.
BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll
Sonya Morris, DePaul, Jr., G
Morris helped orchestrate the Blue Demons’ late-game spurt to defeat Loyola Chicago on Sunday, totaling 26 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Leilani Correa, St. John’s, So., G
Correa had the BIG EAST’s top scoring average among players with multiple appearances last week, averaging 25.5 points in a pair of road contests. The week was highlighted by a career-best 35 points off 12-of-24 shooting in the Red Storm’s setback at Delaware on Thursday.
Mya Jackson, Seton Hall, So., G
In a busy week for the Pirates, Jackson averaged 19.0 points, 3.0 assists and 2.7 rebounds, shooting .524 from the field as The Hall posted a 2-1 mark. Jackson’s week was highlighted by a career-high 27 points in Friday’s win over Wagner.
Maddy Siegrist, Villanova, So., F
Siegrist helped the Wildcats remain undefeated (6-0) on the year, averaging a double-double in home wins over La Salle and Drexel. She tallied 31 points,13 rebounds and five assists against the Explorers before adding an 11-point, nine-rebound showing against the Dragons.
Kae Satterfield, Xavier, So., G
In the Musketeers’ lone contest of the week, Satterfield registered her first career double-double with 15 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. She was 5-of-6 from the field and added a pair of assists as Xavier downed Wofford on Sunday at Cintas Center.
