Pre-holiday play concludes as No. 18/20 DePaul, No. 3/5 UConn, Marquetteand St. John’s go into the break with victories.

18/20 DePaul 90, Creighton 81 
Offenses were on fire in Omaha on Tuesday night as both teams shot well over 50 percent from the field and combined for 23 made triples. Creighton (2-6, 1-3 BIG EAST) led by three after three quarters but the 18th-ranked Blue Demons used a 30-point fourth to pull away. Both teams had their best shooting nights of the season with DePaul (5-2, 2-0) making 60.3 percent of its attempts and Creighton knocking down 52.3 percent. Bluejay rookie Emma Ronsiek had game highs of 28 points and 10 rebounds, but the Blue Demons had a balance attack as six finished in double figures led by a team-high 22 points from Sonya Morris.

3/5 UConn 90, RV/- Villanova 52 
The third-ranked Huskies dealt the Wildcats their first loss of the season, outscoring Villanova 48-23 over the final 20 minutes to seal the road victory. Four players for UConn (5-0, 4-0) finished in double figures, with Olivia Nelson-Ododa and Paige Bueckers tying for the game high with 19 points apiece. Christyn Williams stuffed the stat sheet with 18 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. Sarah Mortensen led Villanova (7-1, 2-1) with 17 points, while Brianna Herlihy corralled a game-high 11 rebounds. UConn shot .547 from the field while limiting Villanova to a .290 clip.

Marquette 69, Xavier 56 
Leading by just four after the first quarter, Marquette (6-1, 3-0) used a 20-10 second quarter to build up a double-digit cushion at Xavier (3-3, 0-2) which it maintained the rest of the way. The Golden Eagles shot .569 on the night, including a 50-percent clip from deep, while limiting the Musketeers to .349 shooting. Each team saw three players finish in double figures, with Xavier’s Nia Clark leading all scorers with 17 points off 8-of-15 shooting. Selena Lott led Marquette with 13 points off 5-of-7 shooting.

St. John's 60, St. Bonaventure 57 
Trailing by as many as 12 in the third quarter, St. John's battled back and downed St. Bonaventure, 60-57, at Carnesecca Arena on Tuesday afternoon to wrap up non-conference play. Qadashah Hoppie led the way for St. John's (3-5, 0-3) in scoring for the third time this season with 12 points. The Staten Island native also dished out three assists on the afternoon. Leilani Correa recorded her first double-double of the year and the second of her young career, chipping in 11 points to go along with a team-high 10 rebounds.
