Welcome Back, Pirates
In its first game of the season, Seton Hall ran away with a 107-60 victory over visiting Saint Peter’s on Tuesday afternoon at Walsh Gym. The scoring total tied the program record, with 11 different Pirates appearing in the scoring column. Preseason All-BIG EAST pick Desiree Elmore led all scorers with 25 points off 10-of-12 shooting, while Victoria Keenan added 21 in just 14 minutes, going a perfect 7-for-7 from beyond the arc. The Hall shot 60 percent from the field and 52 percent from deep, while winning the rebounding battle 44-32. Head coach Anthony Bozzella did not appear on the sidelines, as Seton Hall
announced prior to the game he was quarantining. Assistant coach Lauren DeFalco served as interim.

In the Polls
Two BIG EAST teams remained in both national polls this week as Connecticut maintained its spot at No. 3 in the Associated Press Top 25 but fell two spots in the
USA Today Coaches Poll to No. 5. The Huskies are expected to play their first game of the season on Saturday against UMass-Lowell, which is set for a 1 p.m. ET tipoff on SNY. After splitting a pair of games last week, DePaul dropped four spots in the AP Poll to No. 24, and four spots in the coaches poll to No. 23. The Blue Demons’ next scheduled game is Sunday against crosstown foe Loyola Chicago at 4 p.m. Butler will face two ranked teams this week when the Bulldogs visit No.19/20 Michigan on Wednesday and No. 15/15 Indiana on Sunday.
Elsewhere Around The League
What started as a quiet midweek schedule has fully blossomed as a number of teams have picked up non-conference games. St. John’s added a road contest at Delaware on Thursday, while Marquette picked up Cincinnati also for Thursday. Xavier was initially scheduled to face their rival Bearcats on that day before the Musketeers were forced to postpone due to a COVID-19 issue. Additional midweek tilts include the previously mentioned Butler-Michigan tilt, Villanova hosting La Salle on Wednesday at 4 p.m., Providence hosting Maine on Thursday at 2 p.m., and Seton Hall welcoming Wagner Friday at 7 p.m.
