BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Jaylyn Agnew, Creighton, Sr., F
Agnew snags her fifth BIG EAST Player of the Week nod after scoring a career-high 38 points in Creighton’s win at Providence on Saturday. The 38-point total matches the highest output by a player in BIG EAST play since Louisville’s Angel McCoughtry dropped 43 against the Friars on Jan. 31, 2009. Since 2009, only six other players have reached the 38-point threshold, with DePaul’s Brittany Hrynko being the most recent prior to Agnew, doing so on Jan. 4, 2015. Agnew was 14-of-21 from the field and 7-of-11 from deep on Saturday, matching the BIG EAST single-game high for three-pointers in a game this season. She added four assists and two rebounds as the Bluejays improved to 7-5 on the year.

BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Week
Maddy Siegrist, Villanova, R-Fr., F
Siegrist ties the conference record with her 10th BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honor after finishing third in the league in scoring last week with 21.0 average. The redshirt-freshman added 7.5 rebounds and shot over 41 percent from the field in a 1-1 road swing at Xavier and Butler. She scored a team-high 21 points in each game, with Friday’s total against the Musketeers marking a game high. Siegrist remains the BIG EAST’s top scorer overall, averaging 20.2 points over 24 games this season. In conference play she ranks third with an 18.3 clip, while listing second in rebounding at 9.2 per game. Siegrist’s 10th top rookie certificate ties Connecticut’s Maya Moore (2007-08) and Georgetown’s Natalie Butler (2013-14) for the league record.
