Livianu, Heredia Gomez Pick Up #BEtennis Weekly Honors
NEW YORK - After a weekend of packed action, Jessica Livianu of St John's and Marquette's Luis Heredia Gomez have earned the latest BIG EAST Female and Male Tennis Athlete of the Week award. Livianu posted a 6-0 combined record in three matches last week for the Red Storm, while Heredia Gomez earned a 2-0 singles mark after aiding the Golden Eagles to a 2-0 team record including the third win in program history over Wisconsin.

Jessica Livianu, St. John's, Senior (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Livianu, a three-time BIG EAST Player of the Year, posted a combined 6-0 record for the Red Storm in a 2-1 week as a squad. Livianu went 3-0 at No. 1 singles and 3-0 at No. 1 doubles as the Johnnies fell 4-3 to Syracuse before taking down Siena 5-2 and Wagner by a 4-0 mark. The senior claimed three straight-set victories at the No. 1 singles position after turning in dominant performances at the No. 1 doubles position alongside partner Milka Genkova.
Male Athlete of the Week
Luis Heredia Gomez, Marquette, Junior (Madrid, Spain)
Heredia Gomez lifted Marquette to wins over Wisconsin and Valparaiso, closing out the week with two singles wins at No. 2 singles. The junior clinched the matched in a win at Wisconsin to mark the program's third victory over the Badgers in program history. Heredia Gomez kicked off the weekend with a 6-3, 7-6 (10-8) win over Gabriel Huber of Wisconsin before taking down Brian Pecyna of Valparaiso 6-7, 6-3, 1-0.
