NEW YORK – Providence forward Alpha Diallo has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week after posting two double-doubles and some torrid shooting percentages against Seton Hall and at St. John’s.  Villanova forward Jeremiah Robinson-Earl has been selected BIG EAST Freshman of the Week after helping the Wildcats to a 2-0 week.  It is Robinson-Earl’s sixth weekly freshman honor this season.
 
BIG EAST Player of the Week
Alpha Diallo, Providence, F, Sr. – Diallo averaged 27.0 points and 13.5 rebounds while shooting 63.3 percent from the field, 5-of-5 from 3-point range and 9-of-11 from the foul line.  In a 74-71 victory over 10th-ranked Seton Hall, the senior forward poured in a career-high 35 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.  Diallo registered 19 points, a career-high 17 rebounds and four assists in an 80-69 loss at St. John’s.  For the season, Diallo is averaging 14.0 points and 8.2 rebounds.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Villanova, F, Fr. – Robinson-Earl posted team highs of 17 points and 11 rebounds in a 72-71 win against Marquette and followed that with 10 points and five boards in a 76-56 victory at Temple.  For the two games, he shot 10-of-17 from the field.  Robinson-Earl is the BIG EAST’s top freshman scorer and rebounder with averages of 11.0 points and 9.5 rebounds.    
 
BIG EAST Honor Roll                                                                                            
Ty-Shon Alexander, Creighton, G, Jr.
Averaged 21.0 points and 4.5 assists in a 2-0 week while shooting 52 percent from the field and 53.8 percent from 3-point range.  Had 24 points, eight assists and five steals in a win over DePaul (93-64).    
   
Terrell Allen, Georgetown, G, Gr.
Tied a career high with 22 points in a 73-66 victory at Butler.  Shot 9-of-14 from the field and 4-of-4 from 3-point range.    
   
Markus Howard, Marquette, G, Sr.
Became the BIG EAST’s all-time career scorer after netting 24 points in a loss at Villanova (72-71).  Has 1,408 points in league games.    
     
L.J. Figueroa, St. John’s, F-G, Jr.
Had a game-high 19 points and four steals in an 80-69 win against Providence.  Made 4-of-9 from 3-point range.   
        
Collin Gillespie, Villanova, G, Jr.   
In a 2-0 week, averaged 22.5 points and 4.5 assists while shooting 50 percent from the field (17-34) and 3-point range (9-18).  Scored 29 points in a win at Temple (76-56).
