NEW YORK – Creighton guard Marcus Zegarowski has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week after leading the Bluejays to wins over two ranked conference opponents.  Villanova guard Justin Moore has been chosen BIG EAST Freshman of the Week after contributing to a pair of road victories.  It is Moore’s fourth weekly Freshman honor this season.

BIG EAST Player of the Week
Marcus Zegarowski, Creighton, G, So. – Zegarowski averaged 21.0 points, shot 69.6 percent from the floor and made 7-of-8 from 3-point range while helping the Bluejays to wins at No. 19 Marquette (73-65) and against No. 21 Butler (81-59).  In the Butler victory, Zegarowski tied the BIG EAST record in 3-point shooting percentage by making 7-of-7 from beyond the arc.  He finished with a game-high 25 points.  Zegarowski ranks fourth in the BIG EAST in scoring with a 16.1 average.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Justin Moore, Villanova, G, Fr. – Moore takes Freshman honors for the fourth time this year after helping Villanova to a 2-0 week by averaging 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists.  He scored 17 points in a 91-71 victory at DePaul and followed with 13 points and six rebounds in a 64-55 at Xavier.  For the two games, Moore made 6-of-13 from 3-points range.  He is the top freshman scorer in the league with a 10.9 average.

Posted team highs of 20 points and seven assists with only one turnover in 39 minutes in a win over Georgetown (74-68).  Averaged 14.0 points and 4.5 assists in a 1-1 week.        
Luwane Pipkins, Providence, G, Gr.
In a 2-0 week, averaged 20.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists.  Shot 66.7 percent from the field and 6-of-13 from 3-pont range.  Had 24 points in win versus Marquette (84-72).          
Sandro Mamukelashvili, Seton Hall, F, So.
Averaged 15.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in a 2-0 week while shooting 57.1 percent from the field.  Made game-winning shot at the buzzer versus Butler (74-72).           
Saddiq Bey, Villanova, F, So.    
In a 2-0 week, averaged 21.0 points, 4.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds.  Shot 50 percent from the floor, including 9-of-16 from 3-point range.                    
Tyrique Jones, Xavier, F, Sr.
Averaged 16.0 points and 14.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week.  Increased his double-double streak to nine games.  Had 17 points and 14 boards in loss to Villanova (64-55).
