BIG EAST Attack Player of the Week
Jake Carraway, Georgetown, Sr., A (Annapolis, Md.)
Georgetown senior attackman Jake Carraway repeats as attack player of the week after an eight-point game to lead the Hoyas to a 25-12 win over Fairfield. Carraway scored a hat trick and assisted five more while also picking up six ground balls and causing one turnover. His eight-point performance is a league high for the season so far. Carraway’s goals were the fourth, ninth and 15th of the game. His assists were spread throughout.
BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week
Connor Kirst, Villanova, Sr., M (Bernardsville, N.J.)
Villanova senior midfielder Connor Kirst tallied nine points in a 2-0 week for the Wildcats with six goals and three assists. Kirst had back-to-back hat tricks in wins over then-No. 4 Maryland (13-12) and Hofstra (10-8). In the win over Maryland, Kirst scored his five goals in 10 shots, six on goal, assisting on two of the goals. Kirst scored the third, eighth and ninth goals for VU against the Terps and assisted goals 12 and 13 to help the Wildcats take a 13-8 lead. Against Hofstra, Kirst scored the third, fifth and eighth goals, his last putting VU up 8-5.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Patrick Kennedy, Villanova, R-Jr., D (Long Valley, N.J.)
Villanova redshirt defender Patrick Kennedy had six caused turnovers and eight ground balls in a 2-0 week for the Wildcats which included wins over No. 4 Maryland, 13-12 and on the road at Hofstra, 10-8. In addition to Kennedy helping Villanova hold opponents to 10.0 goals last week, the defender also helped on the offensive end. He netted a breakaway goal against the Terps to put VU up 6-5 with 5:12 left in the first half.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Carson Milburn, Georgetown, Fr., FOS (Lakewood Ranch, Fla.)
Georgetown freshman Carson Milburn went 18-for-24 from the faceoff X (.750), while also picking up 14 ground balls in an 25-12 win over Fairfield. Prior to the game, Milburn had taken just three faceoffs.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Gibson Smith, Georgetown, Jr., D
In the 25-12 win over Fairfield, Smith caused three turnovers and added nine ground balls on defense. His ground ball count was the most of any non-faceoff specialist in the BIG EAST on the week.
Ryan Fazio, Marquette, Sr., M
Fazio recorded a career-high five points (3G, 2A) in a record-setting offensive performance for the Golden Eagles in a 18-6 at Detroit Mercy. His first score of the day stood as the eventual game-winner with 39 seconds remaining in the first half.
Jonathan Huber, St. John’s, RS-So., A
Huber led St. John’s to its first road win on Saturday, with five first-half goals at LIU. SJU defeated Long Island, 17-15.
