NEW YORK – Gretchen Bowie of St. John’s has been named the latest BIG EAST Player of the Week while Villanova’s Paige Rauch earns her second consecutive Pitcher of the Week honor. Bowie led the Red Storm to a pair of wins at the Cardinal Classic in Beaumont, Texas with an offensive outburst of 12 hits and eight RBIs on the weekend. Rauch turned in another stellar weekend in the circle, picking up two wins in 18.2 innings of work.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Paige Rauch, Villanova, Jr., P (Windsor, N.Y.)
Rauch was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive time after leading the Wildcats to two wins at the Disney Citrus Classic. Rauch clinched her sixth and seventh victories on the season with wins over Clemson and Morgan State. Against the Bears, Rauch threw six innings and struck out 12 batters while allowing just three hits and no runs. In a 2-1 victory over Clemson, the junior went for a complete game while striking out seven batters and allowing four hits and one earned run. Rauch closed out the weekend with a 2-2 record and a 1.88 ERA.
 
Player of the Week
Gretchen Bowie, St. John’s, Sr., Util. (Sparta, N.J.)
Bowie exploded for an offensive outburst at the Cardinal Classic where the Red Storm posted a 2-3 mark. The senior led the BIG EAST with 12 hits on the weekend including eight RBIs and two home runs. Bowie registered a .618 on-base percentage while boasting a 1.100 slugging percentage on the five-game slate. Bowie stole four bases on the weekend while also scoring six runs. In Saturday’s 3-2 win over Northern Colorado, Bowie registered the game-winning hit.
 
Honor Roll
Kiele Miller, Creighton, Jr., Pitcher
Miller went 1-0 in the circle for the Bluejays with a career-high 14 strikeouts in the 6-2 win over Central Connecticut State. The junior threw a complete game and registered the most strikeouts in a single-game by a Creighton pitcher since April of 2016.
 
Mileah McKelvy, Creighton, Sr., OF
McKelvy was named to the Tiger Classic All-Tournament Team after her offensive outburst over the course of three games. The senior recorded five hits and six RBIs on the weekend while reaching base at a .545 mark.
 
Jessica Tomaso, Providence, Jr., INF
Tomaso turned in a perfect four-for-four line at the plate in Providence’s win over Merrimack on Sunday morning. The junior hit for a career-high six RBIs and a grand slam on the contest. For the weekend, Tomaso tallied a .471 on-base percentage, six hits, seven RBIs and two home runs.
 
Kaitlyn Lologo, St. John’s, So., Utility
Lologo provided a spark in the field and at the plate with 30 putouts on the weekend. The sophomore was crucial at the leadoff spot for the Red Storm with four hits and two RBIs while running the bases well with two stolen bases and four runs across the plate.
 
Caroline Jones, Villanova, Sr., OF
Jones turned in an impact performance for the Wildcats at the Disney Citrus Classic. The senior totaled 22 bases in five games with six hits and five home runs on the weekend. Jones tallied a total of eight RBIs while slugging for a 1.467 percentage and reaching base at a .438 clip.
