With two weeks and 18 games remaining in the regular season, the daily gaze at the standings and the BIG EAST Tournament seeding projections become more intense.

In the only league game on Tuesday, Xavier hosts DePaul at 7 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network.  The Musketeers (17-10, 6-8 BIG EAST) have won four of their last six contests.  Xavier is a half-game behind sixth-place Butler (7-8) and a game ahead of eighth-place Georgetown (5-9).  The Musketeers’ Tyrique Jones is on a streak of nine straight games with a double-double and ranks third nationally with a season total of 19.

DePaul ended an eight-game losing streak on Saturday with a 74-68 victory over Georgetown.  Charlie Moore, who leads the BIG EAST in assists with a 6.6 average, had 20 points and seven assists against the Hoyas.  The Blue Demons (14-13, 2-12) have three of their four remaining games on the road.  Xavier won the first meeting this season between the two teams 67-59 on Jan. 4.  The road team has taken the last three games in the series.

Creighton vaulted to 10th in the Associated Press poll and 11th in USA Today.  Villanova is 12th in both and Seton Hall ranks 13th in both.
Home teams are 41-31 (.569) in league games going into Tuesday.
