Butler’s Kamar Baldwin hit a step-back 3-pointer as time expired to give the Bulldogs a 79-76 victory against Villanova on Wednesday.  Seton Hall used a fast start to win at Georgetown while Providence parlayed a strong second half into a victory against Creighton.
 
Villanova, ranked 10th by AP this week, rallied from a 10-point deficit in the final three minutes to tie the game 76-76 before Baldwin’s heroics.  Saddiq Bey made two 3-pointers in the final minute and finished with 29 points for the Wildcats (17-5, 7-3 BIG EAST).  Teammate Collin Gillespie added 28 points.  Sean McDermott led the 19th-ranked Bulldogs (18-5, 6-4) with 21 points. Baldwin finished with 17 points.
 
No. 12 Seton Hall took a 16-0 lead at Georgetown and went home with a 78-71 victory.  Myles Powell posted his 12th 30-point game of his career, scoring 34 points for the Pirates (17-5, 9-1).  Jared Rhoden added 12 points and nine rebounds and Romaro Gill tied a career high with eight blocked shots.  Georgetown (13-10, 3-7), which played its second straight game without top scorer Mac McClung, was led by Omer Yurtseven’s 19 points and 15 rebounds, his 13th double-double of the year. 
 
After trailing by four points at halftime, Providence outscored No. 21 Creighton 41-20 in the second half and nailed down a 73-56 win.  PC’s A.J. Reeves made 6-of-8 from 3-point range and finished with a game-high 22 points.  The Friars (13-10, 6-4) outshot Creighton from 3-point range 60 percent to 22.2 percent.  Ty-Shon Alexander had a team-high 15 points for the Bluejays (17-6, 6-4).
 
Home teams are 27-23 (.550) in league games through Wednesday.  Road teams have won 11 of the last 16 games.
