Creighton’s Jaylyn Agnew scores a career-high 38 points as the Bluejays win at Providence.

Jaylyn Agnew had the highest scoring performance in a BIG EAST contest since Jan. 14, 2015, going for a career-high 38 points as Creighton won at Providence on Saturday. In just her second game back since missing four straight games due to injury, Agnew drained seven three-pointers off 11 attempts while going 14-of-21 from the floor overall and dishing four assists. The Bluejays sank a season-high 16 triples while the Friars controlled the paint, outscoring Creighton 38-14 inside. Four Providence players finished in double figures, including team highs of 19 points and eight rebounds for Mary Baskerville. PC outscored Creighton 16-8 in the opening five minutes before the Bluejays stormed back and stole the lead midway through the second quarter and never trailed again. Creighton committed single-digit turnovers (9) for the 10th time this season, while Providence was one shy of its season fewest to mark its lowest number of miscues (10) since Dec. 7 against Bryant.

Sunday Showdowns
Four more games are on deck for Sunday including one airing on FS2 and three streaming on the BIG EAST Digital Network presented by SoFi. Winners of three straight, Seton Hall will look to move closer to first-place DePaul when the Pirates host the 14th-ranked Blue Demons at 1 p.m. ET on BEDN. DePaul is 11-1 in conference play with a three-win lead over current second-place squad Butler. The Bulldogs have the day’s nationally televised tilt on FS2 at 3 p.m., when Villanova travels to Hinkle Fieldhouse. Butler held the nearly unstoppable Wildcat duo Mary Gedaka and Maddy Siegrist to just 15 combined points when they met earlier this year. The pair enters Sunday’s game averaging a combined 37.3 points per game. Sandwiched between DePaul-Seton Hall and Villanova-Butler are two games at 2 p.m. on BEDN, with Marquette visiting St. John’s and Xavier hosting Georgetown. Both 2 p.m. tilts feature team coming off Friday setbacks. The Musketeers defeated the Hoyas earlier this year while the Golden Eagles defeated the Red Storm in January’s high-scoring affair.
