Baldwin completed an internship at the ESPN Radio affiliate in Indianapolis last summer and was an active participant in the Butler Way institute which applies principles of the Butler Way to student-athlete leadership curriculum.
On the court, Baldwin was named All-BIG EAST First Team this week after leading the Bulldogs with a 15.2 scoring average, which ranked fifth in the league. In BIG EAST games, he scores at a higher clip, averaging 17.9 points. Known as one of the clutch shooters in the conference, he also made 85 percent of his shots from the foul line. His foul shooting mark tied for fourth in the league.
The BIG EAST Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year award is one of a number of scholarships presented by the BIG EAST Conference during the 2019-20 academic year. In addition, 20 student-athletes (one male and one female from each of the BIG EAST’s 10 member institutions) will receive postgraduate scholarships as the winners of their respective institutions’ Scholar-Athlete Award. The winners of the institutional and basketball awards are then eligible for the BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, which provides an additional postgraduate scholarship to one male and one female student-athlete.
