Villanova (11-9) posted two ranked victories at the Woo Pig Classic in Fayetteville, Arkansas to record a 3-2 overall mark on the weekend. The Wildcats picked up wins over No. 23 Baylor, No. 9 Florida State and Kent State. The Wildcats started off the weekend on a high note with a 7-3 victory over the Baylor Bears. VU used a six-run third inning to pull ahead 7-1 and never looked back. Against the Seminoles, the 2018 Women’s College World Series Champions, Villanova rung up eight runs in the top of the third to take the lead they would not surrender. Paige Rauch went 3-0 in the circle over the weekend to move to 10-2 on the season.
 
Butler (12-4) continued its early success in the 2020 season with a 4-1 mark at the Liberty Softball Classic in Lynchburg, Va. The Bulldogs posted wins over Hofstra, Yale, East Carolina and Fairfield while dropping a 1-0 decision to Penn. On Friday, the Bulldogs used a Karli Ricketts home run in the bottom of the fourth to edge out Hofstra 1-0. In a 4-0 win over Yale, Ricketts posted her sixth home run of the season while Maddie Moore and Mackenzie Griman recorded RBI singles to lift the Bulldogs to the victory. Against ECU, Alyssa Graves earned her fifth win of the season in the circle, striking out 11 batters and allowing just two earned runs. After trailing 1-0 in the tournament finale against Fairfield, Elyse Babb erased the deficit with a three-run home run in the bottom of the third to put BU ahead as the Bulldogs took the game, 4-1.
 
St. John’s (7-13) earned three wins at the San Diego Classic. The Red Storm took Long Beach State, San Jose State and Mount St. Mary’s in the three-day event. Peyton Cody and Kalei Sorensen and provided the Red Storm’s offense with a hit and an RBI apiece to lift SJU over Long Beach State, 2-0. SJU snapped San Jose State’s 17-game winning streak on Saturday in a 3-2 win over the Spartans. Laura Delgado led the way with a 2-for-3 performance with a pair of RBIs. Against Mount St. Mary’s, Erin Brown recorded her second complete game shutout of the weekend as the Red Storm closed out the weekend 7-0 over the Mountaineers.
 
Georgetown (5-13) secured two wins over the weekend at the Colonial Classic, hosted by George Washington. The Hoyas dropped a 7-6 decision to Princeton on Friday morning, before beating the Tigers 5-2 on Saturday afternoon. Alexa Dolby notched an RBI single with two runners on base to give the GU a 3-1 lead that they would never relinquish. London Diller notched the win in the circle for GU. In the tournament finale, the Hoyas led from start to finish with a 9-1 win over Morgan State. Noelle Holliday knocked a two run home run to the start the first inning to give the Hoyas the lead right out of the gate. Mae Forshey tallied three hits and two RBIs on the game to aid the Hoya offense.
 
Seton Hall (6-12) traveled to Madeira Beach, Fla. for the Spring Games where the Pirates went 2-3. The Hall notched a 9-7 win over South Alabama to open the weekend.  Baylee Allender’s triple scored two runs in the sixth inning to put the Pirates ahead for good. Kelsey Gumm earned the win in the circle to move to 2-2 on the season.  In a 10-0 win over Sacred Heart, Gumm continued her success in the circle allowing just one hit and no runs in five innings pitched for the complete game shutout. The Pirates outhit the Pioneers 11-1 in the contest.
 
Creighton (8-8) traveled to the Coach B Classic in Carbondale, Ill. where the Bluejays went 1-3 on the weekend. CU started the weekend off strong with a 14-1 victory over Purdue Fort Wayne. Four different Bluejays posted multiple hits in the victory, while Cayla Nielson went 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Mikaela Pechar went 3-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored. Mikayla Santa Cruz was dealing in the circle, allowing only one hit during a complete-game effort for her fourth victory of the season.
