NEW YORK – Paige Rauch has been named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week for the third-consecutive week while Georgetown’s Mae Forshey earns her first-career BIG EAST Player of the Week honor.  Rauch tallied a 3-0 weekend in the circle as the Wildcats took down two ranked opponents, while Forshey helped Georgetown to a 2-1 weekend at the Colonial Classic with a BIG EAST best .700 batting average and .667 on base percentage.

BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Paige Rauch, Villanova, Jr., P (Windsor, N.Y.)
Rauch lifted Villanova to two signature wins on the young season as the Wildcats took down No. 9 Florida State and No. 23 Baylor. Rauch picked up three wins on the weekend to move her overall record to 10-2 in 2020.  Rauch posted 24 strikeouts on the weekend to lead the BIG EAST, while holding opposing batters to.259 batting average.
 
BIG EAST Player of the Week
Mae Forshey, Georgetown, So., INF/C (Phoenix, Ariz.)
Forshey was named BIG EAST Player of the Week after a 2-1 weekend at the Colonial Classic. Forshey went 7-for-10 at the plate and tallied four doubles, scored three runs and brought in a pair of RBIs. In Sunday’s 9-1 victory over Morgan State, Forshey recorded two doubles and brought in two runs. The sophomore ranked first in the conference in batting average at .700 while also leading in on base percentage at .667. In the field, Forshey registered 28 putouts.
 
Honor Roll
Alyssa Graves, Butler, Jr., P
Graves led the Bulldogs at the Liberty Softball Classic picking up two wins in the circle and posting a 1.00 ERA. Graves totaled 21 strikeouts in 14 innings while throwing a shutout against Hofstra and pitching a complete game against ECU.
 
Mikaela Pechar, Creighton, Sr., C
Pelchar led the Bluejays with seven hits and a .583 batting average at the Coach B Classic. The senior went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, two doubles three RBIs in a 14-1 Purdue Fort Wayne.
 
Erin Brown, St. John’s, Fr., P
Brown secured two complete game shutouts at the San Diego Classic in wins against Long Beach State and Mount St. Mary’s. In 16 innings pitched, the rookie allowed just five runs and two walks while posting a career-best seven strikeouts against the Mountaineers.
 
Darby Pandolfo, Seton Hall, Sr., Utility
Pandolfo led the Pirates at the plate this weekend during the Spring Games in Madeira Beach, Fla. The senior posted a .467 batting average while reaching base at a .500 clip. Pandolfo tallied two home runs on the weekend while bringing in five RBIs.
 
Megan Kern, Villanova, So., INF/C
Kern lifted the Wildcats to two-ranked wins at the Woo Pig Classic. At the plate, the sophomore hit at a .462 average while crossing the plate for three runs and recording six hits. Kern ranked fourth in the BIG EAST last weekend with a .563 on-base percentage.
