The Monday league schedule includes only one contest – DePaul hosts Connecticut at 6 p.m. ET on FS1.

The Blue Demons (1-3, 0-3 BIG EAST) are playing the second of three games in five days and the Huskies (6-1, 3-1 BIG EAST) are riding a three-game winning streak.  The two teams met on Dec. 23 with UConn winning 82-61 at Gampel Pavilion.

In the lone BIG EAST game on Sunday, Providence put together a late 11-0 run to take a 73-66 lead at Xavier, but the Musketeers ended the game with an 8-0 spurt to pull out a 74-73 victory.  A 3-pointer with one-tenth of a second to go by freshman Colby Jones was the difference.  David Duke was outstanding for the Friars (7-5, 3-3 BIG EAST) with 30 points and six assists.  He made 7-of-9 from beyond the arc.  Zach Freemantle led Xavier (10-2, 3-2) with 17 points and eight rebounds.

Going into Monday, home teams are 17-13 (.567) in BIG EAST play.

UConn Steps Into AP Poll
In Monday’s release of the national polls, UConn moved into the 25th spot in the Associated Press poll.  Villanova remained third in the AP and USA Today polls.  Creighton is No. 8 this week in AP and No. 6 in USA Today.
