FS1 has a tripleheader which will cover all of Saturday’s BIG EAST action. The telecasts begin at noon ET with Marquette traveling to St. John’s. Both teams are coming off league wins on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles ((7-6, 3-4 BIG EAST) boast four players averaging in double figures led by freshman Dawson Garcia who sports a 13.0 scoring mark and a 7.5 rebounding average. St. John’s (7-6, 2-5 BIG EAST) forward Julian Champagnie leads the BIG EAST in scoring with a 21.0 average. The Johnnies rank first in the league in steals, averaging 10.2 per game.
At 2 p.m. Creighton and Butler take the floor at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Bluejays (10-2, 6-1 BIG EAST) are aiming for their seventh straight BIG EAST win, which would be their longest since Creighton joined the league in 2013-14. Butler (3-7, 2-5 BIG EAST) has all three of its wins at Hinkle. The home teams have won the last six games in the series. Jair Bolden and Aaron Thompson lead Butler in scoring with 13.4 averages.
The third game of the tripleheader has DePaul hosting Valparaiso at Wintrust Arena at 4 p.m. The Blue Demons put together the matchup with the Crusaders (3-7) after their game at Georgetown on Wednesday was postponed. The two teams have not met since the 1979-80 season. Blue Demon newcomer Javon Freeman-Liberty is a transfer from Valparaiso. He leads DePaul in scoring with a 14.2 mark.
The Georgetown at Providence and Xavier at Seton Hall games were postponed due to COVID issues.
