Maddy Siegrist scored 31 points for Villanova but it was the Blue Demons and their 13-made triples that picked up the win Monday afternoon at Wintrust Arena. Freshman Darrione Rogers sank 5-of-8 from deep en route to scoring 21 points, while Sonya Morris added a DePaul-high 22 points off 7-of-14 shooting from the field. The teams traded leads in the first half before the Blue Demons took an 11-point lead at the break. DePaul stretched its lead to 16 before the Wildcats clawed back, making it a six-point game with under eight minutes to play. Rogers was clutch down the stretch, however, hitting a dagger of a three-pointer with 3:55 to go and finishing the final quarter with seven points. Villanova shot .516 on the afternoon to DePaul’s .447 clip, but was hampered by 19 turnovers which the Blue Demons turned into 23 points. The 30-point game was the third of the season for Siegrist, who leads the BIG EAST in scoring at 24.1 points per game.
