BIG EAST Softball Player of the Week
Lauren Fey, Butler, Jr., IF
Butler went 3-2 this past weekend in games against Murray State (2), Lipscomb (2) and South Alabama in Mobile, Ala. Fey earned a spot on the Jaguar Classic All-Tournament Team by hitting .545 in Butler’s five games. Her six hits included a double and two triples. She drew eight walks, helping her to an on-base percentage of .737. She scored four runs and stole three bases as well. Over the first 10 games of the season, Fey has batted .538 over 26 at bats, collected 14 hits, been walked 12 times, tallied eight runs and registered a .684 OBP. She’s been dangerous on the bases as well, totaling seven stolen bases.

Payton Kinney, UConn, Fr., P
Kinney impressed in her first weekend of collegiate softball, posting a 2-1 record with a 0.52 ERA over 27.0 innings of work in Fort Myers, Fla. The rookie pitcher struck out 26 and surrendered just three extra-base hits, all of which were doubles. Nine of her 26 Ks came against host Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday. Kinney claimed wins against NIU and Florida International allowing just two earned runs over four appearances.
BIG EAST Softball Weekly Honor Roll
Alyssa Graves, Butler, Sr., P: Graves has gotten out to a 2-1 start over six appearances and 21.1 innings pitched, totaling a 1.64 ERA to include 20 strikeouts. She earned two wins over Murray State while at the Jaguar Classic this past weekend, pitching to a 1.02 ERA.
Hollis Wivell, UConn, R-Jr., OF: Wivell appeared in five games with four starts and assisted UConn to a 3-2 mark this past weekend. The redshirt junior accumulated seven hits in 15 at-bats, including a 3-of-4 hitting performance in the 4-3 win over FIU Feb. 19. Wivell also notched two runs, an RBI, a stolen base while posting a team-best .467 average.
Tori Meyer, DePaul, So., 1B/P: The Blue Demons posted a 3-2 opening weekend record inside the Rosemont Dome last weekend, with Meyer leading the way. She sophomore batted .545 with seven RBI, three doubles and four runs scored. She was a perfect 2-for-2 from the plate as DePaul won its season opener against Valparaiso on Feb. 12.
