The BIG EAST television remotes will be active at 9 p.m. ET when both league contests tip off.
St. John’s, one of the nation’s hottest teams, travels to Butler. FS1 will telecast the contest. The Red Storm (13-7, 7-6 BIG EAST) are aiming for their seventh straight win overall, six straight conference victory and their fifth BIG EAST road win in a row. A victory also will give Mike Anderson his 400th career win as a head coach.
Butler (6-10, 5-8 BIG EAST) has a six-game winning streak against the Johnnies at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Bulldogs are coming off a 68-58 home win against DePaul. Butler lost the first matchup with St. John’s, a 69-57 decision on Jan. 12 at Carnesecca Arena. Butler ranks 25th nationally in fewest turnovers per game with an 11.0 average. St. John’s leads the BIG EAST in turnover margin at +4.5.
On CBS Sports Network, Creighton and Georgetown will meet for the second time in six days. The Hoyas (5-9, 3-6 BIG EAST) won the first matchup 86-79 in Omaha last Wednesday with guard Jahvon Blair scoring a team-high 22 points. Georgetown shot 50 percent from the floor, including 10-of-21 from 3-point range.
Creighton, ranked 19th in the Associated Press poll this week, is coming off a 71-68 victory at Marquette. The Bluejays (14-5, 10-4 BIG EAST) have been scoring by committee this season. All five starters are averaging in double figures, led by Denzel Mahoney at 15.0 ppg. Creighton has won two of the last three meetings in Washington, D.C., but has never played at McDonough Arena.
Going into Tuesday’s games, the home and visiting teams each have 30 wins in BIG EAST play.
