NEW YORK – The BIG EAST Conference will host its final BIG EAST University webinar of the spring semester with a special #MarchtoMSG edition entitled “The Business of Sports” on Tuesday, March 2, at 7 p.m. ET.
The session will feature key stakeholders who play critical leadership roles in the staging of the BIG EAST Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments. The BIG EAST Men’s Tournament Presented by Jeep at Madison Square Garden is the longest running college basketball postseason event at the same venue. This year’s Tournament at MSG will be played March 10-13. The BIG EAST Women’s Tournament Presented by Jeep will be held at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Ct., March 5-8.
The panelists include:
- Joel Fisher, Executive Vice President of Marquee Events and Operations at Madison Square Garden
- Mike Mulvihill, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Analytics of FOX Sports
- Amber Cox, former Vice President of Sports at Mohegan Sun Arena, recently named Chief Operating Officer of the Kansas City NWSL franchise
- Jim Morrison, Head of Jeep Brand Stellantis, North America
The panel will be moderated by Tarik Turner, former St. John’s basketball standout who serves as a FOX Sports television analyst. Turner has spent his professional business career in the world of finance. He is Managing Director – US Equity Trading for Alliance Bernstein, a financial services firm.

The BIG EAST Conference announced the launch of BIG EAST University, a new virtual educational series designed to enhance the student-athlete experience with career and professional development programming at the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic. In partnership with the BIG EAST Career Consortium, this series of webinars was designed to teach the skills needed to secure professional internships, land a first job, or identify a career path most suited to an individual's strengths and interests. The 2020-21 series began in October and will conclude the academic year with this special #MarchtoMSG edition.
