BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Jessica Garziano, St. John’s, So., M
Garziano scored all three goals of a 3-0 win over Sacred Heart on Thursday. The sophomore midfielder tallied six shots on the afternoon with all three of the ones that landed on target beating the goalkeeper. She followed that with the lone goal in a 1-0 win over UMass on Sunday for a four-goal week as the Red Storm improved to 3-0-0 on the year.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Julia Leas, Georgetown, So., M
The Hoyas scored back-to-back shutout victories last week, beginning with a 2-0 decision at George Mason on Thursday and followed by a 4-0 home victory over George Washington on Sunday. The Leas-led Georgetown defense limited its opponents to just four shots on goal last week, and just five corner kicks over the two matches. The Hoyas held a 29-10 advantage in shots, including 17-4 in those on target, and a 28-5 lead in corner kicks. Leas also added a flair of offense, scoring the third goal in the 4-0 win over GWU.
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Megan McClay, Villanova, Jr., GK
McClay was impressive for the Wildcats last week, totaling 10 saves over nearly 188 minutes in net, which included a 1-0 shutout win against Saint Joseph’s on Sunday. The junior had two saves in the victory after being tested for nearly 98 minutes in Thursday’s overtime setback at Drexel. McClay had a BIG EAST single-game season-high eight saves against the Dragons before surrendering the golden goal in the 98
th minute.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Mackenzie Tucker, Xavier, Fr., M/F
Tucker picked up her first goal as a Musketeer in Tuesday’s outing at Bellarmine, scoring in the 38
th minute on a rocket from about 20 yards out after beating out a defender, which was the eventual game winner in the 1-0 match. Tucker also helped facilitate Xavier’s goal in the 3-1 loss at Tennessee, intercepting a long serve from the box by the UTK goalkeeper and saving the ball from going over the endline, back in front of the goal for Gabrielle LoPresti to finish the goal. Tucker’s two points on the season match LoPresti for team high.

Randi Palacios, UConn, R-Sr., GK: two saves in a 2-0 win over Northeastern on Sunday to pick up her second straight shutout victory
Sydney Parker, DePaul, Jr., D: led the DePaul defense which allowed just one shot on goal in a 2-1 win at Valparaiso while also scoring the game-winning goal in the 90
th minute
Gia Vicari, Georgetown, So., F: Two goals, including the game winner, in a 4-0 home victory
Naya Lipkens, St. John’s, R-So., GK: earned first shutout victory of the season with two saves in the 3-0 win over Sacred Heart on Thursday
