#BIGEASTmbb Minute: Final Week Of Regular Season Starts Tuesday

With 10 games left on the regular-season schedule, the final push begins with a pair of contests on Tuesday.  FS1 will televise both games.

Xavier hits the road for its final two contests, starting tonight at Georgetown.  The Musketeers (13-5, 6-5 BIG EAST) are coming off a 77-69 home win over Creighton.  Forward Zach Freemantle has a streak of five straight double-doubles and leads the team in scoring (16.3) and rebounding (9.0).  The Hoyas (8-11, 6-8 BIG EAST) have won five of their last eight games after Saturday’s 68-60 win at DePaul.  Georgetown leads the BIG EAST in rebound margin at +5.3.

A Xavier win assures the Musketeers of a top-five finish in the BIG EAST standings and a bye in the first round of next week’s BIG EAST Tournament at Madison Square Garden. For the Tournament, teams will be ranked in the standings by winning percentage to determine tournament seeds.

Marquette and DePaul will meet for the 129th time in their storied rivalry at 9 p.m.  The Blue Demons (4-12, 2-12 BIG EAST) won the first meeting this season 68-61 in Milwaukee on Jan. 23.  The Golden Eagles (11-13, 6-11 BIG EAST), who are playing their sixth straight game on the road, have a 5-6 record away from home this season.

Going into Tuesday, home teams are 49-37 (.570) record in BIG EAST games and have won 13 of the last 16 contests.
