#BIGEASTmbb Minute: Villanova Rolls To Sweet 16, Creighton Meets Ohio Monday

Villanova advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 Round with an 84-61 victory over North Texas Sunday night.  The Wildcats, seeded fifth in the South Region, pulled away from the No. 13 seed Mean Green with a 24-4 spurt late in the first half. 

Jeremiah Robinson-Earl paced four Wildcat players in double figures with 18 points.  Justin Moore and Jermaine Samuels each added 15 points.  Villanova, which is making its seventh Sweet 16 appearance in the last 20 seasons, committed only six turnovers.

Creighton has an opportunity to join Villanova in the Sweet 16 when it meets Ohio in the second round of the West Region Monday at 6:10 p.m. ET on TNT.  The Bluejays, who are also a No. 5 seed, defeated No. 12 UC-Santa Barbara 63-62 on Saturday.  Marcus Zegarowski scored a game-high 15 points and dished eight assists.  Christian Bishop contributed 15 points and 11 rebounds.

The Bluejays will be aiming for their first Sweet 16 appearance since 1974.

Connecticut and Georgetown lost their East Region First Round games on Saturday.  The No. 7 seed Huskies lost 63-54 to No. 10 seed Maryland.  James Bouknight led UConn with 15 points.  The Huskies lost despite a 40-29 rebounding edge over the Terps. 

Georgetown, the No. 12 seed and BIG EAST Tournament champion, dropped a 96-73 decision to No. 5 seed Colorado.  Qudus Wahab led the Hoyas with 20 points and 12 rebounds.  Donald Carey helped with 17 points.
