Offensive Player of the Week
Rachele Rastelli, St. John’s, Jr., RS (Parma, Italy)
St. John’s junior right side hitter Rachele Rastelli racked up 27 kills and 10 blocks in St. John’s two-win weekend over Providence. Rastelli had a match-high 17 kills while hitting a .350 clip in the Red Storm’s sweep of the Friars on Saturday. The junior also collected four digs and one ace in the win. Rastelli put down 10 kills and posted a .529 hitting percentage in the Johnnies’ four-set win against the Friars on Friday. She also notched five blocks in the victory. Rastelli ranked second in the conference this week with 3.85 kills per set to help St. John’s move up to first place in the East Division.
Defensive Player of the Week
Ariadni Kathariou, St. John’s, Jr., MB (Thessaloniki, Greece)
St. John’s junior middle Ariadni Kathariou helped the Red Storm lead the conference in blocks as she registered 13 blocks (1.86 per set). Kathariou also notched six kills, three aces and one assist in the victory on offense. She followed that performance by posting a match-high seven blocks while adding four kills in St. John’s sweep of the Friars on Saturday.
Freshman of Week
Delaney Hogan, Xavier, Fr., MB (Fort Wayne, Ind.)
Xavier had a 2-0 weekend against Butler with freshman Delaney Hogan averaging 2.14 kills per set with a .353 hitting percentage. For the week, she recorded 15 kills, four blocks and two digs. Twelve of her kills came against Butler in the opener with a .522 hitting percentage.
Honor Roll
Raygan Murray, Seton Hall
Murray averaged 5.10 digs per set in a 1-1 weekend for Seton Hall against Villanova. On Friday, the Pirate libero had a team-high 29 digs to go with three assists and an ace in the five-set loss. On Saturday, Murray had 22 digs with four assists in a come-from-behind 3-2 win.
Sophia Howling, Villanova
Splitting the weekend with Seton Hall, Howling posted 33 kills and a .377 hitting percentage. In Friday night’s five-set win over Seton Hall, she tied her career high with 19 kills. Howling also had 16 blocks on the weekend four solo.
Averi Salvador, Villanova
Salvador had 36 digs over two matches in a 1-1 weekend against Seton Hall. Each match went five sets. Salvador also had six service aces. In the win over Seton Hall on Friday, she set a career high in digs with 26.
Carrigan O’Reilly, Xavier
O’Relly helped Xavier to back-to-back four set wins over Butler as she averaged 12.62 assists per set and 4.50 digs. Her assist total was 101. O’Reilly also had eight kill and six blocks with two aces.
Alyssa Overbeck, Xavier
The XU libero, Overbeck, averaged 5.38 digs per set with 43 in total last weekend. She had a team-high 21 dis with three aces in the four-set win over Butler on Friday. She had a team-best 22 digs in Saturday’s four-set win vs. Butler.
