Menta Named United Soccer Coaches’ College Player of the Week

WASHINGTON – Georgetown senior Jenna Menta was named United Soccer Coaches' College Player of the Week for her efforts in BIG EAST victories against UConn (2-1) and Seton Hall (1-0). The forward notched two goals against the Huskies and an assist against the Pirates, earning her BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week Honors on Monday. Menta is the second straight BIG EAST player to garner the national honor after Providence's Avery Snead was recognized last week.

  • Named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
  • Registered two goals against UConn, one of which being the golden goal in the 96th minute to clinch the win for GU.
  • Tallied an assist against Seton Hall by setting up sophomore Gia Vicari for Georgetown's first goal of the afternoon. 
  • Currently sits atop of the BIG EAST in assists with five in eight matches.
  • Is Georgetown's second-highest points scorer (behind Vicari, 15) with three goals and five assists at this point in the campaign.
  • Has started all eight matches for the Hoyas this season, recording 12 shots, six of which have been on target.
