Player of the Week
Ryan Hogan, St. John’s, RS-Sr., OF (Kingston, Pa.)
St. John’s redshirt senior Ryan Hogan went 9-for-14 (.643) in a four-game sweep of Sacred Heart at Jack Kaiser stadium. Five of his nine hits went for extra bases, as he tallied four doubles and a grand slam. Hogan had three multi-hit games, including a pair of three-hit performances in the opener and the finale. Hogan crossed the plate seven times, getting at least one run in three of the four games. The senior outfielder was  walked twice and was hit by two pitches to reach base at a .722 clip. His slugging for the weekend was 1.143.  Hogan led the league last week in batting, slugging, hits, doubles and total bases. The Red Storm is currently 7-0 and receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Gordon Graceffo, Villanova, Jr., RHP (Cranford, N.J.)
Villanova junior righty Gordon Graceffo piched the first complete game shutout of his collegiate career with a five-hitter against Hofstra on Sunday. Graceffo allowed only two runners to reach scoring position the entire game and needed only 96 pitches (70 strikes) to finish off a 5-0 victory. The junior retired the side in order in the second, fifth and ninth innings. Hofstra advanced the leadoff batter of the game to third base, and a runner to second base in the eighth inning. Graceffo recorded the first nine-inning complete game and the first shutout by a Villanova pitcher since Jimmy Kingsbury on March 17, 2019. Graceffo allowed not one walk.
 
Honor Roll
Ben Caspirus, UConn, Jr., RHP/INF
Caspirus went for 8.0 innings, striking out 11 in a 5-0 victory over Miami (Ohio) on Friday. He allowed just three hits and walked three, limiting the Redhawks to a .107 batting average.
Dax Roper, Creighton, Sr., INF/DH
Roper led the Bluejays to a series win over in-state rival Nebraska-Omaha, posting a .625 batting average and a 1.125 slugging percentage. He closed the three game series 5-for-8 with four RBI. Roper was hit four times in three games, drew two walks, and bashed a home run and a double.
Jonah Smith, Creighton, Sr., RHP
Smith limited Nebraska-Omaha to just one run on five hits over six innings. Creighton won 15-2. Smith struck out eight.
Nick Mondak, St. John’s, RS-Jr., LHP
Mondak went 6.0 scoreless innings and picked up the win for the second time in as many starts this season. He scattered four hits and walked three while striking out five against Sacred Heart.
Jerry Huntzinger, Seton Hall, Sr., C/OF
Huntzinger hit .500 with three runs scored, a double, a triple and three RBI while going 3-for-3 in the basepaths in a doubleheader vs. Albany. The Pirates split the doubleheader. Huntzinger, the leadoff batter in both games, went 4-for-6 in game two helping SHU to a 12-0 win.
