DePaul, Villanova Split Latest #BIGEASTsb Weekly Awards

DePaul rookie Nicole Sullivan bats .833 with six RBI to sweep top player and freshman honors.

Nicole Sullivan, DePaul, Fr., P/SS
Sullivan was impressive in the three-game sweep of BIG EAST foe Creighton over the weekend, batting .833 with six RBI and two home runs. Including the Blue Demons’ nonconference tilt at Illinois State, Sullivan led the BIG EAST last week in batting average (.625), slugging percentage (1.500), RBI (six) and home runs (two), while listing second in on base percentage (.667) and third in total bases (12).
 
BIG EAST Softball Pitcher of the Week
Anissa Amarillas, Villanova, Sr., P
Amarillas went undefeated against BIG EAST foe Providence, posting a 2-0 record and 0.00 earned run average. The senior saw 9.1 innings of work against the Friars, surrendering just one extra-base hit while striking out four. PC was limited to just .182 batting when facing Amarillas. She also pitched 5.0 innings of non-conference action against Drexel on Wednesday, striking out two.
 
BIG EAST Softball Weekly Honor Roll
Paige Rauch, Villanova, Sr., P/1B – batted .444 in three-game sweep of Providence with two home runs and a triple; also posted a 1-0 record in the circle with a 1.20 ERA against the Friars; including double-header with Drexel, batted .400 for the week with a 0.71 ERA and 2-0 record
Alyssa Graves, Butler, Sr., P – went 2-0 with wins over Ball State and Dayton, striking out seven with a 1.45 ERA over 9.2 innings of work; tossed a complete-game shutout in the Bulldogs’ 1-0 win over Dayton Wednesday
Maddie Moore, Butler, Sr., INF – posted a .333 batting average with four RBI and two doubles as Butler scored a pair of nonconference wins over Ball State and Dayton; two-run, two-out walk-off double in Tuesday’s 5-4 win over Ball State and two-out RBI double in the first inning of Butler’s 1-0 win over Dayton
Natalie Halvorson, DePaul, Sr., P – went 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA against league foe Creighton, striking out 10; allowed just one extra-base hit against the Bluejays over 7.0 innings of work; added two strikeouts in midweek contest at Illinois State
