The Huskies are making their 19th consecutive BIG EAST Championship game appearance and looking to win their ninth straight title. UConn has been in the BIG EAST title tilt 28 times. Old Dominion returns to the title game for the third time, as the Monarchs were runner-up in 2019 and 2013. Saturday's final will be the 44th meeting between the Monarchs and the Huskies. ODU is 24-19 all-time against UConn. The Monarchs have played the Huskies in both BIG EAST finals. The two sides are also familiar NCAA Tournament foes, meeting six times. The Monarchs are 4-2 against the Huskies in the NCAA Tournament, including wins in the 1982 and 1983 championship matches. UConn and ODU did not play each other during the regular season this spring. The scheduled series was canceled due to COVID protocols. Last year, UConn won 2-0 in the Championship game in Hamden, Conn. UConn’s Svea Boker scored back-to-back goals in the third period to win it all for the Huskies.

Currently, UConn is ranked sixth nationally. Old Dominion is ranked 16th.

Nick Mantegna and Team USA's Ali Campbell will be on the call from the Proving Grounds. Ashley Liotus will be on site as the BIG EAST Digital Network Correspondent.
