Final Set Of #BIGEASTtrack Weekly Awards Announced

DePaul, Butler and St. John’s claim last regular-season honors.

BIG EAST Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Ashton Colaire, DePaul, Senior
Colaire ran a 14.25 in the 110m hurdles on Friday at the Pacesetter Sports Invitational. The time ranks second in the conference this season and set a DePaul school record. Colaire was also part of the Blue Demons 4x100m relay that set a school record and is the fastest in the BIG EAST (39.91). The time ranks 48th in the nation.
 
BIG EAST Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Butler 4 x 100 relay team: Carson Fields, Lily Hess, Rebecca Collester, Niki Ezeh
The Butler women’s 4x100-meter relay team set a school record, clocking a 45.96 at Indiana State’s Pacesetter Invite, smashing the previous record of 26.49 set in 2019. The time moves the relay team to first in the BIG EAST for the event heading into the BIG EAST Championships weekend.
 
BIG EAST Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Eleftheria Christogeorgou, St. John’s, Senior  
Christogeorgou qualified for the NCAA East Preliminaries on Thursday at the West Point Twilight Meet, clearing a height of 1.78 meters in the high jump to capture first place. Her mark currently ranks 37th in the nation and 19th on the East Region qualifying list. It also ranks third in the BIG EAST this season. Christogeorgou's performance is the third highest outdoor mark in program history, passing Kesha Roberts' height of 1.77 meters that was set in 1991.
