All-BIG EAST Teams Announced For Outdoor Track & Field

Conference recognizes 144 student-athletes who placed in the top three of their respective events at last weekend’s BIG EAST Outdoor Track & Field Championships presented by JEEP.

NEW YORK – Following their performances at the 2021 BIG EAST Outdoor Track & Field Championships presented by JEEP, 144 student-athletes across eight schools were named to the All-BIG EAST Team. The All-BIG EAST squad is comprised of BIG EAST competitors who finished in the top three in any individual or relay event at the championships, with this season’s meet held May 14-15 at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
 
On the list were 74 men and 70 women, including 35 (17 men, 18 women) who earned all-conference recognition in multiple events. St. John’s Leah Anderson led all competitors with four All-BIG EAST certificates, which included first-place finishes in the 200-meter dash, 400m and 4x100 relay, along with runner-up honors in the 4x400 relay. Five student-athletes earned three All-BIG EAST honors: DePaul’s Ashton Colaire (110m-hurdles, 4x100, 4x400), Tori Carroll (100m, long jump, 4x100) and Kiersten Walker (200m, 400m, 4x100); Georgetown’s Joshua Paige (100m, 200m, 4x100); and Villanova’s Danielle Burns (400m-hurdles, 4x100, 4x400).
 
Men’s team champion UConn and women’s team champion Villanova each led with total All-BIG EAST Team certificates. The Huskies took home 28 nods across 24 student-athletes, while the Wildcats claimed 29 honors over 20 student-athletes.
