BIG EAST Attack Player of the Week
Ethan Walker, Denver, Grad., A (Peterborough, Ontario)
Denver’s Ethan Walker scored a game-high five goals, including four after halftime and the overtime winner to clinch Denver the No. 1 seed in the BIG EAST Men’s Lacrosse Championship Presented by JEEP. He gave Denver an 8-7 lead with 11:03 to go and 9-8 with 4:23 to go in the fourth quarter. His game-winner was scored on the first possession of overtime. Walker has scored in 31 consecutive games. Wednesday was his seventh hat trick of the season.
BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week
Colin Crowley, Villanova, Sr., M (Ridgewood, N.J.)
Villanova senior Colin Crowley finished the week with seventh points during the Wildcats 1-1 week against two top 10 opponents. Crowley had a career-best four goals and added an assist to aid in the 16-8 win over then-No. 5 Lehigh. Against Denver in an 11-10 overtime loss, Crowley scored once and added an assist.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Jack Thompson, Denver, So., G (Castle Rock, Colo.)
Denver sophomore goalie Jack Thompson made 20 saves as he earned the win in an 11-10 BIG EAST victory over Villanova. Thompson helped the Pioneers go to overtime in the contest that resulted in Denver earning the No. 1 seed in the upcoming BIG EAST Men’s Lacrosse Championship Presented by JEEP. Five of his career-high 20 saves came in the fourth quarter. It was the first 20-save performance by a Pioneer since 2003.
Freshman of the Week
Devon Cowan, Marquette, RS-Fr., A (Mount Laurel, N.J.)
Marquette attacker Devon Cowan scored four goals to lead the Golden Eagles in a 15-14 win over St. John’s on Friday to close out the regular season. He took 10 shots, eight on target, helping Marquette finish the season 3-7 in league play, 4-8 overall.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Jack Hannah, Denver
Hannah scored three goals and picked up a ground ball in the 11-10 overtime win over Villanova on Wednesday. He scored the first goals of the first and second quarters. It was his seventh hat trick of the season.
Jake Carraway, Georgetown
Scored four goals and added an assist with one caused turnover and a ground ball in a 11-9 set back at Loyola.
Mason Woodward, Marquette
Woodward picked up four ground balls and caused two turnovers in a 15-14 win at St. John’s to close out the season.
Owen Prybylski, Villanova
Prybylski had four caused turnovers against No. 5 Lehigh and was part of a defensive unit that held Lehigh to just eight goals for its first loss of the season. Against Denver, the VU defense held the Pios scoreless for more than 15 minutes. He also picked up two ground balls.
