BIG EAST Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Matthew Payamps, Georgetown, So.
At the Virginia Grand Prix, Payamps recorded the nation’s eighth-fastest 800 meter time this season with a time of 1:47.17. The time leads the BIG EAST and is the fastest by a Hoya runner since 2017. It ranks 10th all-time at Georgetown.

BIG EAST Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Travis Snyder, UConn, So.
The Huskies took three of the top-five spots in the pole vault at the Torrin Lawrence Memorial led by Snyder who for the second-straight week set a PR.  Snyder cleared a height of 5.28 meters to come in second. The height ranks 38th in the NCAA this season.

BIG EAST Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Mia Nahom, UConn, Sr.
Nahom ran the 3,000-meter steeplechase for the second time this spring and on Saturday night set a school record in the event at the Virginia Grand Prix.  Nahom's PR took nearly nine seconds off her time from late March to finish second in the race with a time of 10:10.76.  She breaks the previous record of 10:11.57 set by Meg Cunningham in 2017. The time currently ranks 42nd among all Division I competitors.

Ashby broke the Villanova record in the javelin for the third time this season and the fourth time in her career, surpassing 50 meters for the first time with a distance of 50.69m at the North Florida Invite.
