SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The UConn baseball season came to an end on Sunday with a 14-9 defeat to Central Michigan at Frank Eck Stadium on the campus of Notre Dame.
The Huskies finished with a 34-19 record and earned their third-straight NCAA Tournament appearance and seventh in the last 11 completed seasons.
UConn won both the BIG EAST regular season and tournament championships for the first time in program history.
Three-year captain Chris Winkel played in his 243rd career game on Sunday, passing Billy Ferriter for the most games played in UConn history.
2021 brought the Huskies their first season in brand new Elliot Ballpark, where the Huskies went 16-1 on the year and clinched a BIG EAST regular season title on the final day of the regular season.
UConn won 30 games or more for the six-straight season and the 14th out of 17 completed seasons under head coach Jim Penders.
Kyler Fedko won BIG EAST Player of the Year honors and Second Team Collegiate Baseball All American accolades.
The Huskies placed eight players on the BIG EAST All-Conference teams and won BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year in their first season back in the league.
