BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Meghan Mitchell, Villanova, So., F (Villanova, Pa.)

Villanova sophomore forward Meghan Mitchell helped the Wildcats to a 2-0 weekend with three goals, two assists on 11 shots (eight on goal). Villanova defeated Providence 5-3 for the first BIG EAST win of the season. Mitchell scored the first two goals for VU. She also assisted the go-ahead goal in the 49th minute. In a 6-3 win over LaSalle on Sunday, Mitchell scored the final goal of the game and assisted Villanova’s third (10:52). After the opening weekend of league play, Mitchell is tied for league-high in points per game (5.00), goals (2.00) and goals per game (2.00)
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Cheyenne Sprecher, Connecticut, R-Sr., GK (Palmyra, Pa.)
Connecticut redshirt senior goalie Cheyenne Sprecher helped the Huskies get back in the winning column with a 2-0 weekend with wins over No. 19 Old Dominion (2-0) and No. 13 Harvard (1-0, 2-1 SO). Sprecher’s two-shutout weekend included four saves in each game. In goal during the shootout against the Crimson, Sprecher defended four attempts at her net, allowing just the first strokeoff goal to score. UConn defeated Harvard 2-1 in the shootout victory.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Devin Kinzel, Temple, Fr., M/B (Virginia Beach, Va.)
Temple freshman Devin Kinzel scored her first career goal in the 3-2 shootout victory over Quinnipiac to help secure Temple’s first league win of the season. Her goal came on her only shot. Kinzel’s goal came at 21:22, putting the Owls up 2-1. The Owls lost 2-0 on Sunday to No. 9 Saint Joseph’s.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Jill Bolton, Liberty
Bolton scored a goal in each Liberty win this weekend along with one assist as the Lady Flames defeated Georgetown, 5-1 and William & Mary, 2-0. Bolton was involved in both goals against the Tribe as she assisted the penalty corner goal in the eighth minute and scored her own goal at 42:07.

Conolly tallied one goal and one assist in a pair of games last week as Liberty defeated Georgetown 5-1 and William & Mary, 2-0. Conolly and the Lady Flame defense held the Tribe to two penalty corners and nine total shots.
Nienke Oerlemans, Temple
Recorded defensive saves in back-to-back games. Scored the eventual game-winner in the shootout against Quinnipiac to secure the victory. Led a defense that successfully defended 11 of 13 penalty corners and held #9 Saint Joseph’s to two goals as one of just three teams to do so.
