Ranked Squads Highlight #BIGEASTfh Weekly Honors

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Daniella Rhodes, Liberty, Jr., F (Durban, South Africa)

Liberty junior forward Daniella Rhodes led the Lady Flame offense with two goals in No. 10 Liberty’s 5-1 road win at No. 25 Stanford last Monday. The junior scored in the third minute and right before halftime (28:42) with her second goal giving Liberty a 3-1 cushion going into the break. Through three games this fall, she ranks second on Liberty’s offense in goals (4) and points (10).  
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Delphine Le Jeune, Old Dominion, Jr. M/B (Ghent, Belgium)
With less than three minutes remaining in regulation and a tied match at No. 24 James Madison, Old Dominion junior mid/back Delphine Le Jeune scored her second goal in as many games to lift the No. 18 Monarchs to a 3-2 win over the Dukes. Le Jeune was part of a defensive midfield that held JMU to just eight shots, seven on goal.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Sophia Ugo, UConn, Fr. , F (Buenos Aires, Argentina)
Connecticut newcomer Sophia Ugo scored both of UConn’s goals in a 1-1 weekend against No. 15 Rutgers and at UMass Lowell. Ugo tied up the contest against the Scarlet Knights in the 53rd minute, her first score of the year. No. 6 UConn and Rutgers remained tied through regulation but Rutgers scored the game-winner in the second OT on a penalty stroke. Ugo scored a couple minutes into the second quarter at UMass-Lowell, the lone tally and game-winner.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Sydney Stephenson, Georgetown
Stephenson, a senior back, helped the Hoyas to a 1-1 weekend with 1-0 OT win at Sacred Heart and 2-1 loss at LIU. Stephenson was part of a defensive unit that limited GU opponents to just two goals, and six total shots on goal. Stephenson was also credited with the primary assist on the game-winner against Pioneers.
Julianne Kopec, Temple
Kopec scored a pair of goals over the weekend, including the game-winner over Hofstra, in the eighth minute in a 2-0 win for the Owls. Kopec scored the lone goal a 2-1 loss to Bucknell, scoring again at the start of the game (5:14).
Meghan Mitchell, Villanova
Mitchell had five points over the weekend with two goals and an assist leading Villanova to a 1-1 record with a 3-1 win over Bucknell and a 7-1 loss to VCU.
