BIG EAST Field Hockey Championship Bracket Set

NEW YORK – With a 5-0 win over Villanova, No. 7 Liberty was named the regular season champions and will be the No. 1 seed in the 2025 BIG EAST Field Hockey Championship presented by JEEP. 

This is Liberty’s first regular season title since 2023. With the win over Villanova, they improved to 15-2 on the season and 7-0 in conference play. No. 20 UConn earned the No. 2 spot in the tournament as they finished the regular season 6-1. Old Dominion capped league action at 5-2 and the No. 3 seed. 

Villanova takes the last spot in the Championship as the No. 4 seed finishing the regular season 3-4. The Wildcats secured their spot in the Championship with a Quinnipiac loss to UConn.

Liberty takes on Villanova in the semifinal opener at 1 p.m. ET on Friday, November 7 at Liberty Field Hockey Field in Lynchburg, Va. In the second semifinal game, Old Dominion will take on UConn at 4 p.m. ET. Both games will stream live on ESPN+. 

The winners of Friday’s semifinal matches will advance to the championship game on Sunday, November 9 at 1 p.m. ET. The BIG EAST Championship final will also stream on ESPN+. The winner of the Championship will earn the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
