The 2016 BIG EAST Basketball Media Day will be held on the Madison Square Garden floor for the first time on Tuesday, October 11. The men’s basketball portion will begin at 9:30 a.m. with an introduction of the 35th BIG EAST Tournament video and opening remarks from Commissioner Val Ackerman. The opening programming will be followed by media availability for head coaches and select representatives from all 10 BIG EAST programs. All guests should enter through Chase Square (32nd Street & Seventh Ave. Entrance)
The BIG EAST Digital Network will produce a 2016 Media Day Special live on FOX Sports GO. The show begins at 9:25 a.m. and will be hosted by FOX 5 sports anchor Duke Castiglione. Castiglione will be joined by News 12 Sport Director Pat O’Keefe to help provide complete interview coverage throughout the day.
The conference will provide comprehensive social coverage of #BEmediaday across all BIG EAST platforms. A "35 Years Of The BIG EAST Tournament At Madison Square Garden" panel will be broadcast at 9:30 a.m. on Facebook Live and Fox Sports Go. Action from the BIG EAST Social Media Hub will also be available in real-time throughout the day for fans on Facebook Live. Fans can also get involved with our #BEmediaday Q&A on Twitter by using the hashtag (#AskBIGEAST) to submit questions for any of the attendees. There will also be an exclusive Q&A with the Preseason Player of the Year at approximately 12:00 p.m. For inside access make sure to follow the @BIGEAST Twitter handle starting Tuesday night as Coach Chris Holtmann (Butler) and Luke Fischer (Marquette) take over and provide their perspective of the event.
