PROVIDENCE, R.I. - St. John's junior Pat Wilson earned BIG EAST Men's Golf Player of the Week honors, while USF junior Shena Yang was named BIG EAST Women's Golf Player of the Week.
Wilson claimed his first career individual title with rounds of 69-68-73-210 (-6) at the Caribbean Intercollegiate at the Costa Caribe Resort in Puerto Rico. He posted his best two rounds of the year in his first two rounds and led the field by five strokes. His efforts helped the Red Storm to a second place finish in a five-team field.
Yang helped lead her team to it's third tournament win this season at the JMU/Eagle Landing Invite in Orange Park, Fla. She tied for second in a field of 100 competitors with a score of 69-75-72-216 (E), which was one stroke behind the winning score. Her round of 69 on the first day helped her team achieve a program-record for the lowest round in school history.
The next BIG EAST Golf Player of the Week release will be on March 21.
